The US visa policy was discussed before the High Court today during the hearing of a petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Aminul Islam said the US has announced visa policy for different countries, but did not involve their judiciaries, except for the judiciary of Bangladesh.
The bench said this during hearing of the petition filed by Khaleda challenging a lower court order that framed charges against her and seven others in the Niko corruption case.
The bench raised the issue of US visa policy as Khaleda Zia’s lawyer AJ Mohammad Ali told it that the lower court has continued the trial proceedings of Niko case, although the petition of his client has been pending before the HC for hearing.
