BNP leaders tell Ctg rally

The government is trying to foil BNP’s movement by suing party leaders and activists with false cases, said the party’s port city unit leaders and activists at a rally yesterday.

“But it could not stop our movement… we will not rest until this government is overthrown,” said BNP city unit convener Shahadat Hossain.

Shahadat said this while speaking at a protest rally held in front of the BNP Chattogram city unit office in Kazir Dewri area.

The event was held protesting the attack on BNP party office allegedly by Awami League and BCL activists on Wednesday.

Shahadat alleged that the administration is arresting BNP leaders and activists in accordance to a “master plan” of the ruling party ahead of the upcoming national elections.

“AL leaders and activists vandalised the BNP office in the presence of police, but the administration has not taken any action in this regard,” alleged Abul Hashem Bakkar, member secretary of the BNP Chattogram city unit.

Earlier, two cases were registered naming 15 BNP and its associate wing members and 600 unnamed persons in connection with vandalising the election camp of the AL candidate for Ctg-10 by-polls in Lalkhan Bazar on Wednesday night.
