The 48-hour blockade program called by BNP in its tenth phase has started. This blockade will start from 6 am today Wednesday (December 6) till 6 am next Friday (December 8). In support of the blockade, Thana Chhatra Dal leaders and workers staged a protest at Nayarhat on the Dhaka-Aricha highway, including setting fire to tires.
Around 6:30 in the morning, the leaders and activists started arson and protest march in Nayarhat area of Dhaka-Aricha highway in Ashulia. Eyewitnesses said that in the morning Ashulia Thana Jubodal and its organizational leaders held a demonstration in Nayarhat area of Dhaka-Aricha highway in support of the blockade.
Meanwhile, the marchers blocked the road by burning several tires and tried to vandalize the vehicles. Poured petrol on the road and set it on fire. The leaders and activists fled before the police reached the spot after receiving the news. In the short rally organized later, the speakers said that until this government falls, the youth and BNP leaders and workers will continue to block the road. Speakers called for immediate closure of elections and reconciliation through dialogue.
