A fire in a stone-laden truck in Joypurhat.A stone-laden truck was set on fire by miscreants at a place called Gathan Town in Puranapail area of Jaipurhat-Hili road. However, the driver and the helper managed to put out the fire when they immediately fled the scene.
It is reported that there was no damage. This incident happened on Thursday (November 16) morning.Truck driver Akash Hossain of Anand Nagar village of Naoga said that he was going to Naogaon with a truck loaded with stones from Panchagarh. Around 4:30 to 5:30 in the morning, near the crossing of the Puranapail railway line, I slowed down the speed of the truck when the Puranapail railway gate fell in front of the Gatan city area.
Truck driver Naim Hossain of Jessore, Johnny Mia of Bogra, Helal Uddin of Natore and other motorcycle drivers and helpers said that 8/10 youths came and threw bricks at the truck and set it on fire and fled quickly. Then immediately the truck driver and helper along with other car people came and extinguished the fire with water and road sand from the nearby ditch.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Jaipurhat Sadar Police Station Nazmul Haque said that the miscreants ran away after the police reached the spot after receiving the information, but the police are investigating to identify them. The front glass of the truck and one tire suffered minor damage.
