Two persons have been arrested in connection with the death of a policeman named Parvez (32) in a clash with BNP leaders and workers in the capital. They were arrested from Dhaka and Gaibandha on Sunday (October 29) morning.

This afternoon Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman confirmed this information to the media. Earlier, the police filed a case at Paltan police station in the capital.

The arrested are Shamim Reza and Md. the sultan Among them, Shamim Reza Gaibandha is the convener of Palashbari Upazila Youth Party.

The deceased policeman. Amirul Islam Parvez (32) was working as a constable. His home is in Faizpur village of Nagarpur upazila, between Manikganj and Tangail.

DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that the two arrested directly participated in the murder. They have been identified through CCTV footage.

Earlier on Saturday (October 28) afternoon during a clash with BNP leaders and workers, Amirul fell down on the road after being hit on the head in Boxcalvert Road area of ​​Fakirapool. Later he was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
