Police arrested a man early today for allegedly killing his sister in Kishoreganj’s Bhairab upazila.
The arrestee was Babul Mia, 25, of Shibpur area in Bhairab, reports our Mymensingh correspondent quoting police.
For all latest news, follow The My News’s Google News channel. Quoting family members, Mohammad Maksudul Alam, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Police Station, said Babul locked into an altercation with his mother Aysha Begum over his share of property yesterday afternoon.
At one stage, Babul My News Bangladeshted beating his mother. When his younger sister Soma Begum, 22, rushed to the spot to rescue her, Babul hit Soma with a brick on the head, critically injuring her.
She was rushed to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex where she died around 11:00pm.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The arrestee was produced before a Kishoreganj court this afternoon which sent him to jail, said the OC.
A case has been lodged with Bhairab Police Station, the OC added.
