Madaripur boat meeting 37 teachers relieved of duty.On Tuesday (December 26), Sadar Upazila Election Officer Nanni Khan gave this order for exemption.

Earlier, a meeting was held at Shajahan Khan’s residence on Monday (December 25) morning. Shajahan Khan was present in it. A video of the meeting went viral on social media.

In the meeting, Obaidur Rahman Khan was heard saying, ‘Your beloved leader Shajahan Khan has been directed by the Prime Minister to focus on the three (Madaripur-3) constituencies and campaign for three (Madaripur-3).

As such, we are performing more responsibility than the three (Madaripur-3). Three of you (Madaripur-3) will perform the duty in the same way. If I can elect my Golap Bhai in three (Madaripur-3). Then Daday (Shajahan Khan) and Golap Bhai can bring stability to Madaripur for a long time.’

Addressing the teachers, Obaidur Rahman Khan said, ‘You will call on your close relatives to work for the boat. 3 (Madaripur-3) Constituency will ensure the presence of voters and those who are outside 3 (Madaripur-3) Constituency, will be responsible for working on behalf of the boat of their relatives.

In this regard, Obaidur Rahman Khan told the media, ‘There are three groups of teachers. They have been telling me for a long time to merge the three groups. I told them, before the election, let’s do it later.

I asked them to come if they wanted to be one now. Later they came. Incidentally, the election is being discussed, mainly organizational discussions have taken place. And about the election, no one was asked to vote for the boat. I said, to tell the close relatives and family members to give a little more importance to Madaripur-3 constituencies. This is not an election campaign.’

District Election Officer Ahmad Ali said, after the matter came to the attention of the returning officer, the district primary education officer was informed and asked to investigate and give a clear explanation within the next 2 days. At the same time, the concerned teachers have been exempted from the responsibility of selection.

District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Marufur Rashid Khan told the media, ‘After the video came to our notice, we have instructed the District Primary Education Officer to investigate it.

At the same time, till the investigation report comes, those 37 teachers have been exempted from all election activities. Whether there was any other teacher in this incident is being investigated. The discussion that took place in the meeting is definitely a violation of the election code of conduct. Action will be taken in this regard as well.’
