A college student was killed and his friend was injured when a truck hit their motorcycle on Wapda Road under Hatirjheel Police Station early today.
The deceased, identified as 20-year-old Pulock Gomes, was a student of Martin Luther College.

The accident took place around 3:30am.
Pulock’s brother-in-law, Rony Michael Rozario, said Pulock along with Nayan left his house in the capital’s Norda on Nayan’s motorcycle to have some food in Old Dhaka. On their way back, a truck hit their motorcycle on Wapda Road, resulting in seriously injuries to both of them.
They were first taken to a local hospital and later to DMCH where doctors declared Pulock dead in the morning, he said.
Mehedi Hasan, sub-inspector of Hatirjheel Police Station, said the truck sped up after the accident. Police are investigating the incident and trying to identify the vehicle, he added.
