Cyclone ‘Hamun’ crossed Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar coast. Three people died in Cox’s Bazar due to Cyclone Hamun. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar Vibhishan Kanti Das confirmed this information on Tuesday (October 24) night.He said three people have died so far. Among them, one died in the municipal area, one in Maheshkhali and one in Chakaria.

Cyclone Hamun’s Destructive Impact: Walls Crumbled and Lives Lost

Due to the impact of Cyclone Hamun, the walls and trees were crushed by the strong winds and they died. Locals said that Cyclone Hamun hit from 6:30 in the evening. It caused heavy rainfall and strong winds. Abdul Khalek was working at home at that time. Suddenly the wall of the house fell on him. The people of the house rescued him and he died on the way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, one person was killed in Badarkhali after a tree fell in Cyclone Hamun. Deceased Askar Ali is a member of Badarkhali Cooperative Agriculture and Colonization Society after a tree fell in Ward No. 4 of Badarkhali Union of Chakaria Upazila.

A person named Haradhan Dey (45) died after a tree fell in front of his house at night in Bara Maheshkhali Union of Maheshkhali Upazila.He suffered a head injury and died before being taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, trees have been uprooted in different parts of Cox’s Bazar due to strong winds. In this, the city’s Holiday Junction, Baharchhara, Banglabazar, Himchari roads were cut off. Later, the branches of the trees were removed from the road, but the electricity poles were broken in different areas and the electricity connection was cut off in different areas including the municipality.
